Mayor Celso Lobregat has turned over anew handheld radio transceivers and battery packs to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) aimed to strengthen the communication capability of the local police in law enforcement.
The communication equipment worth P254,400 were turned over by Lobregat on Monday, including eight handheld radio transceivers with spare battery packs and earpieces amounting to P13,500 each for a total of P108,000.
Also turned over to the ZCPO were 70 battery packs to replace the unserviceable batteries amounting to P146,400.
The communication equipment which was turned over to the ZCPO on Monday was the second batch of radio transceivers given to the police by the city government in two weeks time.
Two weeks ago, Lobregat also turned over to the ZCPO 43 handheld radio transceivers amounting to P580,500, three units radio base worth P69,5000 and 47 battery packs amounting to P97,6000 for a total of P747,600, bringing to more than P1 million the total cost of communication equipment the city government has donated to the local police.
Lobregat said his administration has been extending so mush assistance to the local police ranging from infrastructure, computers and office supplies to vehicles, communication equipment, firearms and bullets to ensure they are better equipped in their law enforcement and anti-criminality campaigns.
