More than 80 barangays in four towns of this province remain waterless since Tuesday night due to repair works being undertaken by water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc.
Repair works by Maynila on leaked pipes along the Coastal Road that began on November 15 were still ongoing in Bacoor and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Imus. Residents in these areas get their supply from private water suppliers in Las Pinas, Paranaque, and other sources.
Mayor Strike Revilla said 45 barangays in his town have been waterless for two days. These are Barangays Zapote 1 to 4; Talaba 1 to 7; Aniban 1 to 5; Ligas 1 to 3; Niog 1 and 2; Panapaan 2 to 4 and 6 to 8; Maliksi 1 to 3; Kaingen, Daang Bukid, Digman, Tabing Dagat, Camposanto, Alima, Sineguelasan, Banalo, Mabolo 1 to 3; Dulong Bayan, Habay, Salinas and Real.
In the municipality of Kawit, local officials reported that 20 barangays have been affected. These are Tramo, Manggahan Lawin, Balsahan Bisita, Poblacion, Congbalay-Legaspi, Kaingin, Samala-Marquez, Tramo Bantayan, Kanluran, Marulas, Gahak, Panamitan, Putol Magdalo, Sta. Isabel, Wakas 1 and 2; Tabon 1 to 3.
In Noveleta, nine barangays still waterless are San Rafael 1 to 4, San Antonio 1 and 2, Sta. Rosa, San Juan and Magdiwang, officials reported.
