Caloocan Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri on Friday announced that the historic bout between seven-division boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito will be shown for free this coming Sunday on selected covered courts of the city.
Echiverri said that the match will be aired live on the following venues:
Malaria Covered Court in Barangay 185; Pag-Asa Elementary School, Bagong Silang; Kalayaan National High School, Bagong Silang; Phase 1-C Covered Court, Bagong Silang; Camarin D Elementary School, Camarin High School; Urduja Covered Court, Barangay 171; Deparo Covered Court, Barangay 168; Kaybiga Covered Court, Barangay 166; Sta. Quiteria Elementary School; Barangay 152 Covered Court, Bagong Barrio and at the sixth Floor of Victory Mall.
Echiverri said the local government decided to hold free showings of the fight at different sites in Caloocan knowing full well that it is an important bout for Pacquiao and that a lot of residents would want to witness it.
“Pacman’s fight is the fight of all Filipinos, and in support to him we decided to hold these free showings so that all of us can voice out our support to our Pambansang Kamao,” Echiverri said.
Echiverri stressed that the event would be shown for free, and thus told residents to report to his office any attempts to solicit fees or payment
