Former and current National and local government officials, foreign dignitaries, politicians as well as showbiz personalities and other VIPs arrived in droves at the House of Representatives in Quezon City just hours before the third State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno S. Aquino III on Monday afternoon.
Among the early arrivals were Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis Singson, Apayao Gov. Elias Bulut Jr. and Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu.
Also in attendance were former President Fidel V. Ramos and former President Joseph Estrada, who arrived with son, Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Estrada. They were followed by Senators Pia Cayetano, Sergio Osmeña III, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who arrived with his family.
Meanwhile, showbiz star-politicians or those married to politicians, as always, never failed to attract the attention of media members as well as other visitors and guests.
Showbiz power couples like Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. and wife Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez and actor-husband Richard Gomez attracted the most attention.
On the other hand, most notable among the foreign dignitaries who attended was United States Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas Jr.
