With the theme “Magaling na Paglilingkod, Kayamanan ng Lungsod”, the Valenzuela City Health Department recognized the hard work, efficiency and achievements of barangay health workers and institutions.
Held for the first time last January 6, Valenzuela health chief Dr. Jaime Exconde said the awards “aim to give appreciation to our health workers for their dedication in giving the best service to our fellow Valenzuelanos.”
Barangay Paso De Blas Health Center was adjudged as the city’s best health facility, along with five runners-up from small and big health center categories.
The runners-up from big health centers that cover more than 10,000 people are: Barangay Bagbaguin Health Center, Barangay Mapulang Lupa Health Center, Barangay Veinte Reales Health Center, Barangay Dalandanan Health Center, and Barangay Balangkas Health Center.
The runners-up from small health centers that cover less than 10,000 people are: Barangay Bignay Health Center, Barangay Isla Health Center, Barangay Mapulang Lupa Purok 4 Health Center, Barangay Pasolo Health Center, and Barangay Tagalag Health Center.
Barangays with special awards are: Best in Garantisadong Pambata Inititative – Barangay Punturin Health Center; Best in Healthy Lifestyle Initiative – Barangay Tugatog Health Center; Best in Tuberculosis Initiative – Barangay Marulas Mega Health Center; Best in Health Promotional Initiative – Barangay Dalandanan Health Center.
The Measles Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA) awardees were also recognized during the event.
