Training by Singapore Police Force and Japan Coast Guard

A half-day training exercise conducted by Singapore Police Force and Japan Coast Guard was held on Thursday at the city-state’s Raffles Reserved Anchorage, a report by Straits Times online breaking news said.

It is said that the training exchange was as "part of the Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting, a forum of 18 major coast guard agencies from all over Asia."

The Commander of Singapore Police Coast Guard, assistant commissioner of police Hsu Sin Yun, said the exercise reaffirmed the "excellent ties" enjoyed by the various agencies, the report added.

The meeting is said to be a platform to exchange ideas and enhance cooperations in "issues such as law enforcement, maritime security, disaster prevention and relief, and capacity building."
