Top Export Products from Cebu Philippines

Abaca pulp made up most of the exported products from the Port of Cebu from January to September.

Cebu District Collector Ronnie Silvestre bared the top 10 exported products and exporters during a forum with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

Based on their data, 12.6 million kilos of abaca pulp valued at USD99.6 million were exported for the period.

Coming in second was copper concentrate, which reached up to 27 million kilos valued at USD45.5 million.

Silvestre identified Specialty Pulp Manufacturing Inc. as the top exporter, accounting for 13.9 million kilos of abaca pulp valued at USD117.8 million.

Carmen Copper Corp. exported 38 million kilos of copper concentrate valued at USD62.9 million.

Dried mangoes made up 4.5 million kilos in exports, worth USD32.9 million, Profood International Corp. exported most of these dried fruits, accounting for 7.3 million kilos worth USD39.6 million.

Carageenan bagged the fourth spot for most exported goods, making up 4.5 million kilos with a value of USD29.13 million.

The top carageenan exporters were CP Kelco Philippines Inc., which exported 1.5 million kilos of carageenan worth USD16.1 million, and Shemberg Marketing Corp., which exported 3.32 million kilos of carageenan and ice pops valued at USD15.8 million.

FMC Marine Colloids Phils., however, placed tenth on the list of top exporters, shipping 844,058 kilos of seaweed flour valued at USD6.7 million.

Activated carbon, assorted drilling machine accessories, wood and rattan furniture, coconut shells and coco fatty acid distillate made up the last of the top 10 exported products.

The other exporters on the list were Pacific Traders Manufacturing Corp., makers of wood and rattan furniture, UCP Geo-ex Services, which exported construction equipment for re-export; Cenapro Chemical Corp., which exported activated carbon; and Peba Trading and Manufacturing Corp., which exported plant and decorative pottery.
