Suspected gun-for-hire arrested in Pangasinan
BUGALLON, Pangasinan, April 2 (PNA)–A businessman who was tagged as member of a gun-for-hire group was arrested when lawmen implemented a search warrant for violation of illegal drugs at his residence in Barangay Cayanga, Bugallon at about early Friday morning.
The suspect was identified as one Rolly Tolentino, 42, a member of the Tolentino Group engaged in gun-for-hire as well as in drug trade who was ranked number seven among the drug personalities in Bugallon.
He was found in possession of transparent sachets of crystalline substance called shabu and one empty transparent plastic sachet.
He was arrested by joint elements of the Bugallon Police led by Chief Inspector Joseph Imperial, chief of police; and Aguilar town police led by Senior Inspector Arturo Melchor Jr., Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team of the Provincial Public Safety Company
The lawmen implemented a search warrant issued by a local court at the house of Tolentino who was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Tolentino as well as the items seized are now under the custody of Bugallon police station prior to their presentation and return of the Search Warrant to the court of origin.
A case for violation of Article II Section 11 of RA 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) was already filed against Tolentino before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Meanwhile, police raid on the house of a resident of Barangay Umayam, Bugallon Friday led to the voluntary surrender of one Caliber 9mm Glock pistol, one Caliber 40 pistol and one caliber 5.56 mm rifle and assorted magazines and ammunition owned by one Raymond Reyes.
The raid was to verify the licenses of these firearms which were not in conformity with the listed actual residence of the owner.
The firearms will remain in the custody of the Bugallon police pending verification of the authenticity of the licenses presented (PNA)
