An official of the National Food Authority (NFA) has assured consumers that the agency has enough supply of rice for the next six months.
NFA provincial manager Gaudencio Nuega Jr. said the grains agency has a stock of 220,000 bags of 50 kilos each in its warehouse in Barangay San Roque, this city.
Nuega said they can get rice supply from either Dipolog City or Pagadian City in case there will be shortage of rice in this city.
According to Nuega, the daily rice requirement of this city is 6,000.
He made the assurance with the onset of summer season which is not a favorable for rice planting.
He said there are 790 accredited retailers in this city selling at P27 a kilo of NFA rice. (PNA)
