Indian main stock index Sensex opened at 15,893.07 points Thursday, 10.43 points or 0.06 percent higher than the previous close of 15,882.64.
Consumer durables, oil and gas, automobile and health care sector picked up 0.7 percent, 0.6 percent, 0.56 percent and 0.43 percent, respectively.
Tata Motors, Hero Motor, Tata Steel and Bajaj Auto gained 1.95 percent, 1.51 percent, 1.25 percent and 1.1 percent.
Still, Coal India, automobile maker Maruti Suzuki, property developer DLF and software outsourcing player Infosys declined 0. 51 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.21 percent and 0.22 percent.
