Showbiz star and YesPinoy Foundation (YPF) Founding Chairperson Jose Sixto ‘Dingdong’ Dantes III expects the EDSA Babies Expo to help generate more youth-initiated development efforts in the future.

Dantes believes the exposure youth-initiated projects gained from the one-day expo will encourage Filipino youngsters to seek more ways of helping move the country forward.

“It all starts with encouragement — once we give youngsters the privilege and opportunity to do things, they will be motivated,” he said Wednesday on the side of EDSA Babies Expo at SM North EDSA mall in Quezon City.

This expo is the main youth event for the 10-day 25th anniversary celebration of the 1986 EDSA People Power revolution, reputedly the world’s first bloodless uprising for democracy.

Dantes spearheaded the expo’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and visited the various exhibition booths that were set up at SM North EDSA’s Skydome.

Nearly 50 booths there showcased various youth-initiated artistic, scientific and livelihood projects as well as other productive undertakings. – pna
