Security measures are in place after police launched “Oplan Undas”, an officer of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said Thursday.
Police Senior Supt. Wilson Asueta, PNP Bicol spokesperson, said “Oplan Undas” would ensure that peace and order is maintained in various cemeteries, major roads during the observance of All Saints Day on November 1.
Asueta said aside from existing police units, they would field additional personnel to support public assistance centers in various cemeteries, terminals, ports and highways.
The police assistance center would assist incoming and outgoing passengers in the cities of Naga, Legazpi, and Masbate and in Virac town in Catanduanes.
He said checkpoints would be set up to assist motorists and other visitors from other places to observe the week-long religious observance.
Security checks would be strictly enforced in bus terminals and major seaports across the region, he added.
