Taiwan’s executive authorities resigned Thursday after its chief left his post for health reasons last week, with a power handover set to be conducted Feb. 18 after the Spring Festival holiday.
Sean Chen, chief of the executive body, will be replaced on Feb. 18 by Jiang Yi-Huah, deputy chief of the executive body. Chen will later become a mentor for Taiwanese authorities.
Chen said in a meeting of the executive body held on Thursday that after one year of work, Taiwan’s economy had bottomed out, adding that all departments should continue to do their jobs during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.
Jiang said at the meeting that he will lead his team to build a more prosperous and stable Taiwan.
