MANILA – Partido Demokratikong Pilipino- Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) standard-bearer Rodrigo Duterte expressed willingness on Sunday to support the passage of the proposed Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill if he is elected in the May 9 polls.
He made this pledge during the second leg of the Presidential Debates 2016 which was held at the University of the Philippines (UP) in Cebu City.
In the same vein, Duterte repeated his challenge to the other presidential bets to sign a bank account secrecy waiver as this will determine who among them is hiding “stolen money.”
Duterte also reiterated his willingness to withdraw from the presidential race should the Commission on Audit (COA) or any government body file charges against him.
The Davao City mayor likewise stressed his promise to rid the country of criminality and corruption within the first six months of his term. (PNA)
