The local government of Malay town has officially started the road mapping in the different barangays of the said municipality in a bid to expand the lure of the tourism industry.
Malay mayor John Yap has ordered the road mapping to study the possibility of establishing a ‘tourism road’ in his town.
The said road mapping is also meant to identify areas where tourists could possibly pass by as they visit other tourism attractions in mainland Malay.
Earlier, the Sangguniang Bayan of Malay passed a local legislation transferring the operation of bug cars and all-terrain vehicles (atv) from the Boracay island resort to Malay, Aklan.
Tourists in Boracay had complained of the noise and traffic incurred by the bug cars and atv operation in the said resort island.
Once the tourism road will be established, the bug cars and atv’s will then be transferred to Malay town.
