Regional Development Council (RDC) in Bicol Sets P1 Billion Projects

The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Bicol has endorsed the P1.055 billion worth of three project packages to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) under the calendar year 2013 infrastructure program region wide lump-sum allocation.

In the full council meeting held here over the weekend, the RDC approved the proposal of the DPWH covering the Legazpi City Urban Drainage Project, Bicol River Basin and Watershed Management Project (BRBWMP) and Camarines – Albay diversion road project covering the San Fernando-Oas-Daraga Section.

The Legazpi City urban drainage project is composed of four sub projects with a total of P300 million, while the BRBWMP Flood and Hazard mitigation component is composed of 17 sub-projects for the construction of dikes and revetment with a total funding requirement of P455 million.

However, the Camarines Sur-Albay diversion road project is composed of five road sub projects with a total fund requirement of P300 million. It will be a continuation of the previous road sub projects funded under the approved calendar year 2012 of DPWH infrastructure program in Bicol region.
