Raid in Bulacan, Philippines

Police arrested two suspected members of a carnapping gang and recovered from them two stolen vehicles in a raid at their suspected lair in Barangay Caniogan here Tuesday afternoon.

Sr. Supt. Sheldon Jacaban, chief of the Central Luzon Highway Patrol Group (HPG), said the two suspects, whose identities are still being withheld for follow up operations, are now under their custody.

He said the duo did not resist arrest when HPG operatives swooped down on their suspected hideout.

According to Jacaban, they have earlier received information that a compound in the said village is being used a garage of stolen vehicles.

The raiding team recovered a stolen Ford Everest van, a Mitsubishi L-300 van, car plates and cannibalized parts of automobiles.

He said the Ford Everest van with plate number PMQ-645 is owned by one Reylex Lumelay.

Police said the van was stolen at gun point by a group of men wearing ski-masks in Pampanga last Nov. 4.

Police said the suspects brought the stolen vehicle on their suspected hideout where they cannibalized and brought to car surplus stores in Capalangan, Apalit, Pampanga.
