In connection with President Bill Clinton’s speaking engagement in the country Wednesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) continues to implement the bay watch on the adjoining sea areas in the cities of Manila, Pasay and Paranaque.
The adjoining sea areas of South Harbor, back of Manila Hotel, US Embassy, Baywalk along Roxas Boulevard, CCP Complex, Mall of Asia and other identified areas in Manila Bay are included in the PCG’s security coverage through the conduct of harbor/seaborne patrols, according to Admiral Tamayo, PCG commandant.
Additionally, PCG Search and Rescue (SAR)/Auxiliary vessels and fast boats with sea marshals have been prepositioned. Field Station operatives continue to exchange information with counterparts from other services/agencies while K9s are deployed for paneling purposes.
