The hiring of additional 10,000 personnel by the Philippine National Police (PNP) will surely boost the peace and order campaign, consequently benefiting Western Visayas.
This was underscored by Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) regional director C/Supt. Cipriano E. Querol, who expressed appreciation to Senate Finance Committee chair Senator Franklin Drilon for making possible the hiring of additional personnel next year.
Currently, he said that Western Visayas has 8,500 personnel. Part of the 10,000 quota is expected to be allotted for this region.
“It would make our peace and order program easier not only in Iloilo but in the entire Western Visayas,” Querol said.
Meantime, Querol lauded the Iloilo River rehabilitation project of the city, which is also supported by Senator Drilon.
Querol said the noble undertaking has pushed him to volunteer the services of the PNP.
Currently, the PNP is in charge of patrolling the Iloilo River Patrol to ensure that it is free from any intrusion that could disrupt the on-going rehabilitation.
