PHL wins Best Performance Award at Turkey trade fair
MANILA, Jan. 31 (PNA) — The Philippines has won its first award in the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel (EMITT) Fair 2016 held in Istanbul, Turkey from Jan. 28 to 31, 2016.
“In its first ever participation in the East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition in Istanbul, the Philippines is awarded ‘Best Performance of EMITT 2016’,” Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Benito Bengzon said via social media.
During the trade fair, performances from homegrown talents such as beatbox artist Neal Llanes from Davao, among others, who made the Philippine booth deserving of the award.
The EMITT is recognized as one of the top five tourism exhibitions in the world as it involves the participation of representatives from around 70 countries.
This year, it has also brought together 4,500 companies in 11 halls equaling to total exhibition space of 70,000 square meters.
EMITT is organized by Ekin Fuarcýlýk and EUF–E Uluslararasý Fuarcýlýk, the affiliates of ITE Turkey, which is the organizer of leading exhibitions for leading industries of Turkey. (PNA)
