Atty. Constante Caluya, Jr., the register of deeds of Makati City and custodian of transfer of certificate of title (TCT) since Nov. 2, 2011 on Monday testified on the purchase of a property in 2004 of Cristina Corona, the wife of embattled Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Renato Corona.
On direct-examination by Rep. Marlyn Agabas, Caluya brought with him the original condominium certificate TCT no. 85756 of Unit 31-B one-bed room type, 48-square-meter of the 34th Floor of the Columns, Ayala Village, Makati City in the name of Cristina Corona worth P3,588,931.32.
He also brought with him the original absolute deed of sale dated Oct. 1, 2004 and the original certificate authorizing registration (CAR) issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in the name of Cristina Corona of the said property.
The defense, led by retired SC Associate Justice Serafin Cuevas, also admitted the presentation of the prosecution’s eighth witness.
