Local authorities are looking into the motive behind the killing of a restaurant owner here who was gunned down inside his establishment in Barangay San Juan ACCFA, Cabanatuan city, last Sunday evening.
A responding security guard was also fatally shot as he attempted to help his employer.
City police chief Superintendent Eli Depra on Wednesday said motive for the slayings has not been ascertained.
Depra identified the fatalities as Arthur Feliciano Pajarillo, 49, owner of the Lamarang restaurant and resident of Barangay Sto. Tomas, Jaen town; and Elmer Tolentino de Jesus, 34, of the Praetorian Security Agency, of Purok 4 Barangay Sumacab, this city.
Police investigation showed that two persons who pretended to be customers had ordered food and drinks. At about 9:55 p.m., Pajarillo arrived in the restaurant and went straight to the counter.
At this juncture, one of the gunmen pulled out his gun and shot Pajarillo in the chest, resulting in his instantaneous death.
