The Naval Forces Southern Luzon, in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense in Region V (OCD-5) and Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, has dispatched disaster response and rescue teams early Tuesday to Polangui, Albay to evacuate families from low lying areas.
The Navy has put its maritime assets on rescue operations to find five missing fishermen from Rapu-Rapu is an island town in Albay and Baras, Catanduanes.
The Navy also received a report from Kagawad Jude Hilado of Calabanga that a fisherman from Sabang is also missing.
In Albay, the national roads at Busay, Daraga and Lidong leading towards Polangui are now impassable.
In this city, all major roads were closed due to floods. There is no electricity and landline telephones are down. All flights were canceled, including sea transport vessels in Bicol. There is an estimated 30,000 families to be evacuated in Albay.
