In support of the national government’s call to fight dengue, the Caloocan City government conducted on Thursday a summit which discussed steps to prevent the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.
Aside from Mayor Enrico Echiverri, city hall officials, business sectors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and barangay officials, representatives from the Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Education (DepEd) also attended the summit.
The attendees asked the cooperation of different sectors in the dissemination of information on how the public could stop the spread of dengue.
In line with this, Echiverri asked the residents to continue with their efforts to kill mosquitoes that carry the disease by cleaning up their surroundings.
The local government recently distributed mosquito nets cured with polyethylene which can kill dengue-carrying mosquitoes to public schools in the city.
