At least 12 insurgents were killed and several others injured when Pakistan army targeted militants’ hideouts in the country’s northwest tribal region of Orakzai Thursday, local media reported.
Local TV express said that in an air raid, army jet fighters pounded five houses believed to be safe havens of Taliban militants in Mamozai area of Orakzai Agency, a semi-autonomous tribal at Pakistan-Afghan border.
Identities of the killed militants are not known yet.
This is the second targeted operation by Pakistan army in Mamozai area over the last 24 hours, earlier on Wednesday, eight militants were killed in a similar air raid by army jet fighters.
Thursday’s raid was second in February and fifth of its kind since the advent of this year in Orakzai Agency.
