A nationwide Essay Writing Contest will highlight Pag-IBIG Funds’ celebration of its 25th Anniversary. Regional Manager Flordelis B. Menzon of the Pag-IBIG Fund Regional Office 8 disclosed that on December 14, Pag-IBIG will be celebrating its 25th anniversary and they are now in the process of formulating a series of activities relative to the event.
The Essay Writing Contest shall focus on the Pag-IBIG Fund Theme, “Pag-IBIG Fund: Affecting Lives Through Its Loan Programs”. Menzon added that the contest shall be open to all active Pag-IBIG members who have a skill in writing.
Prizes at stake are P25,000.00 for first prize, P15,000.00 for second prize, and P10,000.00 for third prize.
All entries must be written in English, containing a minimum of 1,600 words and must be original and have not been previously published in print, electronic or other forms. The winning entries shall automatically become Pag-IBIG Fund property, and shall be posted on the Fund’s official website and published in the forthcoming issues of its internal newsletter Pag-IBIG@word.
According to Menzon, representatives from the academe as well as industry leaders shall be invited as guest judges who shall choose the winners from among the semi-finalists.
All entries shall be judged based on the following criteria: content and substance, 40%; relevance to the theme, 30%; organization of ideas, 20%; and composition, 10%.
