President Benigno S. Aquino III on Tuesday joined the blessing of the first airbus aircraft of South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) here.
This is the first official visit of the President in the province since he assumed presidency.
Upon his arrival at the SEAIR hangar, the Chief Executive joined with Fr. Elmer Simbulan in the ceremonial blessing of airbus A319.
Along with him are Nikos Gitsis, SEAIR vice chairman; Avelino DL Zapanta SEAIR vice president and Jose Victor Luciano, president of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC).
“Using the new 144-seat A319 jet aircraft, SEAIR projects monthly air passenger traffic in Clark to increase by more than 60 percent or an additional 200,000 passengers annually,” Zapanta said.
With an initial fleet of two Airbus aircraft leased from Tiger Airways, SEAIR will initially offer low-cost jet flights between Clark and Singapore starting on December 16.
