New Hotels in Davao City, Philippines

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has welcomed the upcoming construction of three more hotels set to open in the metropolis in the next two years.

She said it is a welcome development, as she underscored the importance of having additional rooms in the city.

“They always say we lack rooms and the facility. Now we have these hotels opening up soon,” the mayor said.

Earlier, Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Arturo Boncato stressed that three big companies engaged in hotel business and property development are set to erect hotels in Davao City. These companies — the Radisons, Ayalas and Red Planet Hotels — will bring some of their major projects in the city.

The new hotels for development are Kukun Hotel of Ayala, Park by the Radison, and Tune Hotel by the Red Planet and Air Asia.

Boncato said presently, the city has almost 5,000 rooms comprising all types of accommodations such as hotels, inns, villas, and motels, among others.
