The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Region 1 was adjudged as having the “Best Prepared Citizens’ Charter” by the Regional Development Council (RDC).
The RDC, which is the highest policy-making body in Region 1, dubbed DENR Region 1 as Star Plus Regional Productivity Performer even as it was also adjudged as second runner up for being the “Most Advanced in Productivity and Quality Journey” for the Regional Line Agency Category).
Both awards were conferred during its recent regionwide validation on Productivity Improvement Scorecard and Labeling Diagnosis this year.
The RDC serves as the counterpart of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board at the sub-national level.
RDC Region 1 is composed of three major sectors namely: the LGUs, government agencies and the private sector, chaired by Director Leonardo N. Quitos.
DENR Regional Executive Director Samuel R. Peñafiel said the agency is focused on the improvement of service delivery to the public with a more defined and systematic process.
“All the DENR offices particularly in the field has to inform the public of what services they expect from us”, he said, adding that “this modest accomplishment of DENR I was achieved through the concerted efforts of DENR I family and will serve as an inspiration for us to strive for a more public service excellence”.
The DENR Regional Office established its Public Assistance Desk Office (PADO) in the office lobby, and manned by a PADO Officer. The client is immediately referred to the concerned official/personnel for proper action/resolution of the client’s concerns.
The most-sought services in the DENR are under the Handog Titulo Program of the Land Management Sevice which gives free services to land titling -now upgraded from agricultural to residential and government-owned properties.
