The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Monday lauded President Benigno S. Aquino III’s commitment to further upgrade and acquire new equipment for the military.
“We are indeed very grateful for the continued and unprecedented support of our present Commander-in-Chief to the modernization and capability upgrade program of the AFP. The realization of the goals of the program will further equip our soldiers to perform better and deliver more for the benefit of the people,” AFP spokesperson Col. Arnulfo M. Burgos, Jr., said.
“A disciplined soldier with proper training and right gears will be more effective and efficient in the fulfillment of his sworn duties and responsibilities to the Filipino people,” he said.
During his third State-Of-The-Nation-Address (SONA)on Monday, Aquino said that a frigate, 21 refurbished Huey helicopters, two more C-130 cargo lifters, four combat utility helicopters, modern guns, radios, armored personnel carriers, force protection equipment are in the pipeline for the AFP.
