Three soldiers and two policemen, all from Pangasinan, who dominated the searches sponsored by the Metro Bank Foundation and the Rotary Club of Makati, were honored Monday by their provincemates.
Gov. Amado Espino Jr., a retired police officer, led officials in honoring the five winners of the national awards during the traditional flag ceremony in front of the provincial capitol here at 7:00 a.m.
The TOPS awardees are Capt. Erick A. Kagaoan, a director at the Navy, Col. Raul J. Tangco of the Philippine Military Academy and Senior Master Sgt. Augusto D. Reyes of the Air Force.
Kagaoan is a native of Tayug, Pangasinan. Reyes hails from San Quintin while Tangco is from Bayambang.
The three soldiers were chosen for showing gallantry, dedication, commitment, professionalism and integrity among members of the Armed Forces (AFP).
The COPS Awardees are Police Supt. Belli Bagaas Tamayo of Calasiao and PO 3 Eduardo Santiago of Bayambang.
They were chosen winners for exemplifying excellence in solving and preventing crimes in their community and showing integrity as members of the National Police.
Prior to the province’s conferment and recognition to these outstanding Pangasinenses, they received their awards from the organizers during the awarding ceremonies for the Outstanding Filipinos last Sept 5.
