London stock market closed lower on Thursday with the leading FTSE 100 index down by 92.01 points, or 1.55 percent, at 5,845.29 points.
As the top loser, shares in ARM Holdings went down by 8.97 percent. Weak Chinese trade data hit mining shares. Fresnillo fell 4.78 percent and Lonmin dropped 4.75 percent.
Shares in Shire Plc increased by 1.64 percent while Morrison Supermarkets added 1.64 percent.
