Knights of Columbus, a religious organization in a parish of the Diocese of Kidapawan in Central Mindanao, has requested the Local Government Unit here to increase its funding support to the local police.
The support, it said, should be in intelligence monitoring and strengthening their capability in curbing criminality.
In a resolution, the Knights of Columbus No. 13770 of the Saint John Mary Vianney Parish at Sandawa Homes, this city, has asked City Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco to provide funds for the purchase of a brand new patrol car and additional communication equipment and facilities to local PNP.
Such move, according to K of C 13770 Grand Knight Gonzales, would intensify peace and order campaign of the local police.
The PNP, he said, has only one patrol car, which was given by the national police headquarters many years ago.
The LGU’s fuel allocation to PNP was also slashed, thus, reducing police capability, the resolution said.
