A 28 year old woman was found dead and suspected to have been raped in a subdivision here early Monday, a police officer said.
The victim was identified as Maria Sarah Aragon, a resident of Block 2, Central City Subdivision.
Police Supt. Ato Battaler, Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol spokesperson, said residents found the victim’s body sprawled at a vacant lot at Block 2, a few meters away from her residence at around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
Battaler said police investigators found a plastic bag wrapped around the victim’s head hinting she was strangled to death. The victim’s blouse was raised and her pants were lowered, exposing her underwear, indicating that she might have been raped.
Police operatives immediately invited for questioning her alleged boyfriend, identified as Vicente Natividad, a resident of Sitio Tico-tico, in Barangay Taysan, a village in the southern part of this city.
The victim and her boyfriend were reportedly seen together on Sunday afternoon.
The victim’s body was brought to a funeral parlor where an autopsy would be conducted today to determine the cause of her death and to find whether she was raped or not.
Police investigators also recovered from the the crime scene the cell phone of the victim.
Probers said the cell phone would give them possible leads who the victim talked with and text messages she sent and received before she was killed.
