A total of 3,500 job vacancies overseas and locally are up for grabs in a one-day jobs fair in this southern port city on Friday.
Public Employment Service Office (PESO) chief Francisco Barredo said the jobs fair will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday at the Plaza del Pilar.
Barredo said at least 35 licensed recruitment firms from Manila are sending their hiring team to the one-day jobs fairs here.
Local business establishments like bazaars, restaurants, hotels and others are also participating in recruiting new employees to compose their work force, Barredo said.
He advised the applicants to bring with them their resume, two-by-two photographs and other documents.
He said those who wish to work aboard may not necessarily be a college graduate as long as they possess the needed skills.
