There are some people who may not be so aware of the impact of the nuclear radiation leak in Japan. But the truth is the nuclear radiation can travel and hit Chicago, Illinois in the USA. As you know it, nuclear radioactive materials can travel by air or water. If that is the case, Chicago, Illinois in the United States can be reached by the nuclear radiation materials released into the air.
Here’s the latest news on the expanding problem, more serious, on threat of nuclear radiation leak.
The International Atomic Energy Agency urged the Japanese government Wednesday to evacuate residents in a village some 40 kilometers northwest of a troubled nuclear power plant.
The level of radiation detected in Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, exceeded the agency’s limit, Denis Flory, deputy director-general of the IAEA, said at a press conference in Vienna.
The village is outside of the Japanese government’s 20-kilometer evacuation zone around the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant.
Japan started a survey in the village, Flory said.
IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano separately said senior officials from the agency’s member states will meet in Vienna on June 20-24 to discuss nuclear safety.
