japan jobs filipino nurse caregiver employment vacancy

LAOAG CITY, March 9 (PNA) —The government of Japan is looking for registered nurses and caregivers to work in various hospitals and clinics, said the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Ilocos Norte.

Ann Marie Lizette Bitancor of PESO-Ilocos Norte said close to 600 caregivers and 150 registered nurses will be hired should they pass the qualification.

Nurses must be licensed with three years’ hospital experience while caregivers should have at least two-year work experience. They must also be medically and psychologically fit to work.

Bitancor said potential applicants are young nurses who were previously hired by the Provincial Government in its ‘Sagip Nars’ program and caregivers who had passed the National Certificate II from the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA).

Bitancor said the PESO also offers free Japanese language training to interested applicants or should they need assistance when submitting their online applications at the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

Enhancing the mobility of skilled people among nationals of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been one of the key achievements of the ASEAN Economic Community 2015, according to a report from the National Economic Development Authority.

Under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement, representatives of both countries entered into a memorandum of understanding for the training and employment of Filipino nurses and caregivers in Japanese health care facilities.

As cited in the agreement, fully qualified nurses and certified caregivers, after passing the Japanese national licensure examination, shall have the option to stay for an unlimited period in Japan to practice their profession.

Applicants can only get jobs legally through the POEA since the Philippines and Japan signed an agreement allowing only the POEA to facilitate the recruitment and deployment of Filipino nurses and caregivers. (PNA)
