Israel and China Forge Technological Cooperation

Israeli President Shimon Peres on Sunday met here with Huang Huahua, China’s Guangdong Province Governor, on enhancing economic and technological cooperation.

The president, mentioning the ongoing economic transformation and development in Guangdong, spoke highly of the Guangdong’s energetic economy.

Noting that the technology will be the most important field in the future cooperation between the two sides, Peres said that the evolution of the artificial intelligence, the expansion of the scientists group and the emphasis on the brainpower resources are the three main trends of the current technological development in the world.

Huang, speaking highly of the mutual trade and technological cooperation and its great potential, told Peres that it is a good match between Israel’s technological innovation capacity and local demand and market in Guangdong.

He suggested enhancing cooperation between the two sides especially in the fields of High-Tech, trade and investment, culture and education, and tourism.

According to the governor, the trade volume between Guangdong and Israel stands at 1.38 billion U.S. dollars in 2009, more than a quarter of the Sino-Israeli trade as a whole. (PNA/Xinhua)
