Indonesia managed to develop aerial rocket technology

Indonesia managed to develop aerial rocket technology during 2010 and now the rocket prototype was in process of certification by the Defense Ministry, a minister said here on Monday.

“Indonesia has managed to develop military aerial technology, a result of cooperation between the Ministry for Research and Technology, the Defense Ministry, state-owned enterprises, universities and non-ministry governmental institution,” Minister for Research and Technology Suhana Suryapranata told a parliamentary hearing.

Suryapranata said that the rocket is dubbed “Rocket Dirgantara 20-30 km or Rocket D-230.”

He said that control on technology and industry of the rocket, especially for caliber 122 mm, was conducted independently.

He added that the blueprint on engineering design of the land- to-land non-missile rocket, the making of prototype as well as statistic test and flight test had been conducted.

Currently, he said, the rocket prototype is in the certification process by the Defense Ministry. (PNA/Xinhua)
