Expressing sadness over the latest bombing incident in Makati City, city mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog here will be sending a letter to Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay Jr. expressing deepest sympathy and solidarity with the Makati people against terrorism.
Mabilog said that Makati is a sister city of Iloilo cemented in 2003 with a sisterhood pact that ensures intercity exchange of development ideas and technology, friendship and solidarity with each one.
What happened recently in Makati is a lesson learned and Mabilog acted to ensure safety and peace and order here.
He also instructed the city police force to conduct a 24/7 checkpoint and, likewise, mobilize all barangay captains to be vigilant and monitor movements of suspicious looking persons in the barangays.
The city chief executive said that Makati is the business and financial center of the country by hosting several major business corporations and branches of international business.
Hopefully, the city of Iloilo will be spared from a bus bombing incident like what happened in Makati recently, including high profile criminal incidents like hold-ups, hijackings, kidnappings and other forms of terrorism, Mabilog said. (PNA)
