Financial Assistance for Cooperatives in Taguig City

Twenty-four cooperatives in Taguig City have been awarded with certificates of recognition and financial assistance by Mayor Lani Cayetano for their notable contributions to the city government’s effort in creating livelihood opportunities for Taguigenos, as well as their important role in nation-building.

The presentation of the awards, held at the City Hall Auditorium last Tuesday, was part of the week-long Taguig Livelihood and Career Expo 2012 with the theme: “Sa Kooperatiba, Buhay ay Giginhawa: Parangal Para sa Pinakamahusay na Kooperatiba sa Taguig.”

The exposition is one of the various activities lined up in celebration of Taguig’s 425th founding anniversary.

During the same occasion, Mayor Cayetano reiterated her assurance to the 96 active cooperative organizations in Taguig that the city government, under her leadership, will continue supporting all their projects and programs that genuinely uplift the welfare of their members.

Among those who assisted Mayor Cayetano in the awarding of certificates and P30,000 financial assistance to each of the winning cooperatives were Councilors Jojo Eron and Jimmy Labampa, Cooperative Development Authority-National Capital Region extension office Director Salvador Valeroso, and manager Ariel Castor of Landbank Taguig City Hall branch.
