Fil-Am annual international amateur golf tournament

Mayor Mauricio Domogan Thursday suspended the vehicle reduction ordinance or the “number coding scheme” to allow full use of more than 2,000 golfers, golf enthusiasts and visitors of their vehicles here until December 10.

The 63rd Fil-Am annual international amateur golf tournament has at least 1,200 registered players from the Pacific ream countries like the United States, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines who are now in this mountain resort 250 kilometers north of Manila.

The “number coding scheme” of Baguio had been effective since three years ago whereby each vehicle cannot enter the central business district for at least a day in the city’s bid to further improve the air quality in downtown area.

According to Domogan, the hundreds of visitors now in the city for the prestigious tournament should be given full access to all areas and establishments here and the neighboring areas for the full duration of the golf tournament.
