Egypt’s ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq

Egypt’s ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq together with 10 aviation top officials were referred to criminal court over charges of financial corruption, official news agency MENA reported on Sunday.

Former aviation minister Ibrahim Manna along with nine other officials were charged in four cases related to harming the public funds, the report added.

Shafiq who was the last prime minister in former President Hosni Mubarak’s regime, has signed a cooperation protocol to establish New Egypt Services Association on the land of Mubarak’s wife park. Based on this protocol, other defendants were granted the authority to exploit the Egypt Air Holding Co. funds as value for recreational games in the park.
