The municipal government is now in the planning stage for the development of a 42-hectare public land here into an eco-park as part of La Trinidad’s contribution to tourism and regreening.
This was confirmed by Municipal Mayor Greg Abalos who said that the proposed site will be in the rolling mountains of barangay Shilan in the northern part of this town.
“The area with only few trees now but offers panoramic view has vast potential for eco-tourism if we build structures there and re-capture its former greeneries,” he said.
Records show that tourists going to Baguio often wants to move out of the city for natural sceneries.
At the moment, this town has only the wide strawberry fields to offer for that desire.
