Duterte: Anonymous donor commits P1-B for military hospitals
New and fully-equipped military field hospitals will soon be built in Mindanao courtesy of a P1-billion donation from a donor whose identity President Rodrigo Roa Duterte chose not to reveal on Saturday when he visited a military camp in Isabela province.
“I’d like to mention it to you now for the first time. Somebody is giving us one billion to…We will complete it so that kung maari lang ipauna ko iyong sa Jolo. Doon ko ilagay iyong ospital na mga operating rooms, lahat ng kailangan. Somebody is giving us, but he does not want…me to mention his name. Pero ewan ko lang someday, maybe mag-li-leak rin iyan.”
The President said the donor “wants to start—as a matter of fact…They’re also starting to build the rehab for the addicts sa shabu.”
Duterte also told the soldiers that the airplanes which used to be for presidential sorties have been tasked to serve as air ambulances or go on medical airlift missions.
“Sabi ko, gamitin na ninyo iyan for ambulances, for those na kailangan ng ospital kaagad sa Maynila, madala kaagad kayo doon – to save lives and everything,” he said. (END)
