DOE strengthens ties with energy technology sector
MANILA, Feb. 24 (PNA) — The Department of Energy (DOE) is strengthening its partnerships with energy technology companies to support the development of the energy sector.
The statement was made by Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella during the recent inauguration of the amorphous transformer plant of First Philec in Batangas province.
During the occasion, he also called on Filipino scientists to help address systems loss through innovative and more energy-efficient technologies for the benefit of Filipino consumers.
“With a more efficient use of energy, we can create wealth for the country and improve the lives of Filipinos,” he said.
First Philec’s transformer plant, seen as the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, is expected to generate nearly 500 jobs. The plant is a locator in the First Philippine Industrial Park in Tanauan City, Batangas. (PNA)
