The Holy Name University family will once again gather to celebrate the annual Dedication Day Celebration on July 6 at the Lesage Gymnasium in the main campus. This year’s celebration is a time of reminiscences, rejoicing, and renewal as encapsulated in the theme: “We Remember, We Rejoice, We Renew: The Language of the Heart.”
The celebration is divided into two parts. The first part is a Eucharistic Celebration and the second part is the Dedication Day Program.
The following are the highlights in the program:
An Invocatory song and Dance will be performed by Elementary Department and The WORD, the official student publication (for the college level) of the university. This is followed by a Pre-Anthem Performance by the Diwanag Dance Theater and the singing of the National Anthem by Melissa Maraguinot and Vernel Iam Sendrijas together with the High School students.
HNU President, Fr. Ernesto M. Lagura, SVD, will officiate the recognition of the Dedicated Service Awardees in the persons of Mrs. Teresita D. Miculob and Mrs. Narcisa G. Ponte.
Dr. Teotima Amborgo, Dean of the Graduate School, will present the Newly Tenured Faculty and the respective teachers who earned promotion of their ranks.
After the presentation of the newly tenured faculty, Fr. Lagura, SVD, will give his Message.
In the later part of the program, the different departments of the university recalls and honors the past in the segment titled: “HNU Through the Years.”:
The High School Department will have a presentation titled “How It All Started.” This is followed by the newly named College of Business and Accountancy (formerly College of Commerce and Accountancy) with their “Glorious Days of the Operetta.” The College of Arts and Sciences prepared a video tribute to HNU Beauty Queens in “The Paragons of Beauty in the Passage of Time.” The College of Education will dazzle with its “Reminiscing the Fabulous P.E. Nights followed by the presentation of the Academic Non-Teaching Personnel (ANTEP) with their “Responding to the Call of the Times/HNU Outreach Program.” The College of Nursing will present show HNU’s tradition of “Trailblazing Excellence….” And finally, the College of Engineering and the High School Department will end the celebration with their finale followed by the singing of the Holy Name March.
