Davao City’s ‘Pamulak Kadayawan’ 2009

The much-awaited “Pamulak Kadayawan” or Floral Float Parade is all set on Sunday with 101 participating groups that will include the parade of exciting floral floats entered in the three categories.

Pamulak Kadyawan committee chairman James Zimmerman said they look forward to a very exciting competition giving the judges a hard time.

The winning entries will be displayed immediately after the parade at SM City Davao Parking C as it has been the tradition of Dabawenyos and visitors both domestic and foreign to take a glimpse of the floral floats and have their photos with it.

“Visitors will surely enjoy seeing these floats,” Zimmerman said.

Joining for the top honors in the big float category are Puentespina Orchids and Tropical Plants Inc., Suara Sug Media Corp.-Samsung, Sonshine Media Network and the Maranao Tribe.

While listed in the small float category contest are the Kalagan Tribe, Maguindanaoan Tribe, Bagobo-Klata Tribe, Ata Tribe, Guardians Brotherhood Federal Inc., Hakuchou Ballet Corp., Synnex Concentrix (formerly Link2Support), SUL Orchids Davao City, Wison Shopping Center and DMI Medical Supply-MX3.

Showing unique entries in the alternative category are Tausug Tribe, Matigsalog Tribe, Tagabawa Tribe, Sr.Sto.Nino Palaboy de Davao, Makabayan, University of the Philippines Alumni Association Davao, Anak ng Dabaw, Brgy.Sasa, Mindanao On Bike, Guardians Philippines (Anti-Crime) International, Brgy. 21-C, Brgy. 5-A, Gamma Sigma Espsilon, Rizal Memorial Colleges and George A. Cepada.

The other participants are the Traffic Management Group, Traffic Management Center, On Any Sunday Riders Club, Davao Aguila Riders, Kabayan Ryders Club, Road Runner Motorcyle Riders Club, Kamikaze Dualsport Riders Club, Team Underground Club of Davao.
