Chinese Shares in Stock Market of China

Chinese shares closed slightly higher for the morning break on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 5.21 points, or 0.24 percent, to close at 2,221.14.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 36.72 points, or 0.41 percent, to finish at 9,068.38.

China’s National Council for Social Security Fund (NSSF) has injected at least 10 billion yuan (1.58 billion U.S.dollars) into the capital market as of last Friday, said Wednesday’s Shanghai Securities News, citing sources from fund firms.

Also, Dai Xianglong, chairman of the NSSF, said on Tuesday that he encouraged parts of the pension funds managed by local governments to be invested in equities for higher returns.
