Philippine National Police Director General Jesus Verzosa on Tuesday ordered the fast-tracking of completion of an 88-unit PNP housing project for the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
Verzosa was in Camp Karingal Tuesday morning to personally oversee the ongoing construction of the twin four-storey residential quarters for QCPD personnel that is expected to be completed on June 30, 2010.
Verzosa instructed the PNP Housing Board chaired by Deputy Director General Jefferson Soriano to fast track completion of the project and make the building ready for occupancy by June 15, 2010.
The chief PNP visited the QCPD headquarters today after an early morning six-kilomter road run participated in by some 1,500 Quezon City policemen from the UP campus to Camp Karingal.
QCPD District Director Chief Supt. Elmo San Diego led a contingent of some 1,500 QCPD runners and bikers who warmly welcomed the PNP chief.
Later in the day, Verzosa was in Paco, Manila where he led a contingent of 150 policemen in the symbolic clean-up of Estero de Paco, a major tributary of the Pasig River.
Some 300 cops and soldiers volunteered for the Estero de Paco clean-up drive alongside other volunteer contingents from Miss Earth, University of Santo Tomas, Adamson University, Concordia College, and the local community.
